Quercus Shumardii is one of the largest oaks in the Red Oak group. They are generally faster growing than Texas Red (growing about 1.5FT-2FT per year) and reach about 70FT tall x 50FT wide. They are extremely drought tolerant and prefers well-drained soil. They produc large acorns that squirrels and deers love.
